Partnership communications – Independent Evaluation for Our Way of Working
Evaluation overview
The Our Way of Working (OWOW) initiative for working with children and families across the Cheshire West and Chester multi-agency partnership has now been established for over 18 months. Funding from the Department for Education (2018-2021) as part of the Partners in Practice programme has supported the programme in rolling out to partners. As part of this funding, we are required to carry out an independent evaluation for Our Way of Working.
How does the evaluation work?
OWOW is being independently evaluated by Lorna Templeton – who is a social sciences researcher with over 20 years of experience.
The evaluation will involve situation focus groups, interviews, attending key meetings for observation as well as an evaluation survey.
The survey will be specifically for delegates who attended the OWOW training between October 2019 and March 2020 so that we can continue to understand how the model is being implemented in practice.
The survey
The survey asks about each aspect of the OWOW model – namely trauma-informed practice, motivational interviewing, multi-agency group supervisions, learning conversations, and the more recently introduced COVID-19 recovery approach.
The survey will ask how each aspect of OWOW has influenced both your individual practice and your organisation, and how the model has made a difference to the children and families that you are working with.
What happens next?
If you attended the OWOW training between October 2019 and March 2020 you will be contacted directly to fill out a survey by 8 January 2021.
After all of the evidence, from the survey, focus groups and interviews have been collated by the independent evaluator, these will be assessed and analysed.
A full evaluation report should be available for viewing by the end of April 2021, which will inform the way that the programme is taken forward.
The evaluation will give us a better understanding of how the model is continuing to be implemented in practice and most importantly the difference it is making for children and families.
